Description:
A flame sensor is one of the most important safety features of your furnace. The sensor is a short length of thin metallic rod that creates a small current of electricity in order to confirm there is fire burning within the furnace. As the gas valve opens to begin the combustion process, the current is sent out from the sensor in order to detect the presence of heat from a flame. The flame sensors ensure the burners are operating properly and have ignited the gas. If the sensor detects that the burner has failed, it will turn off the gas. This burner flame sensor (part number 62-24164-01) is for furnaces. Install Process: 1.Shut off the power to your furnace (or any other appliance). It is very important. 2.Remove the broken Sensor and replace it with our new sensor. 3.Turn the power back on, Check the Results. Note: Ensure the component you purchase is compatible with your unit. Before you begin the flame sensor replacement, turn the gas and electricity off to the unit.
